Lil’Bit

Pending Adoption

.In early February we were contacted by a Florida shelter about an eight year old female that came in as a stray.

She was underweight at 64 pounds, had a wound on her head ,several broken teeth a heart murmur of 2/3 of 6, patches of thinning hair and mild entropion.

When she arrived at her foster home she had no manners, knew no commands and most likely never lived in a house.

Her foster family has named her Lil’ Bit due to being so petite.. Even now, a month later at a healthy weight she is less than 70 pounds.

She now knows basic commands and is doing great with house training.

She loves attention and petting – so much so she will knock your feet out from under you to fling herself on the ground in front of you and roll on her back for belly rubs .
She also jumps waist high when excited so she may not be good in home with elderly adults or children.

Lil’Bit had no interest in other dogs but is
very interested in cats.

She is a character, she tends to drag things around – blankets out of crate , food bowl onto sofa , magazines off bookshelf .

She is a sweetheart and likes to be with people and sleep most of the time.

When we took her to the vet, they could not hear a murmur and said her entropion does not need surgery at this time. The vet also thought she may be closer to six.

Lil’Bit is being fostered in Georgia and looking for a family,

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. For additional information please email marie@ddbrescue.org

Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue is a foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to rescuing neglected and abandoned Dogue de Bordeaux, rehabilitating and re-homing them into loving forever homes in the continental United States.
