Luna

Medical Hold
Update 12/1/2023
Luna went to the vet today. They compared chest x-rays taken today to the chest x-rays taken a couple of weeks ago and they see improvement. Her heart appears to be less enlarged. Luna will continue with medications for her heart worm infection and will be rechecked after the holidays. Luna seems to be coughing less. Luna is more relaxed and has not needed medication for her anxiety.
Update 11/15/2023
November has been a busy month for Luna! She completed her heart worm treatment and moved from her original foster home in Oklahoma to a foster to adopt home in  Pennsylvania. She has met her new family and is adapting well. As Luna settles into her new home we will adjust her anxiety medication as needed. She still is coughing from her heartworm infection.
Intake 5/24/2023
This beautiful, petite girl weighing just 75 pounds is Luna.
In mid March a very pregnant Luna was found as a stray. Luna had several puppies and stayed with them until it was time for them to go to homes of their own. In late May Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue was asked to take Luna into our care. We estimate that Luna is three years old.
Luna is extremely sweet and loves to be with people. Luna is anxious and when in her crate her anxiety escalates.
Luna would do best in a quite home with someone who works from home or is retired.
Luna does well with the two large male dogs in her foster home. She is being fostered with a cat and seems too interested but when she was with cats at the vets office she was non- reactive.
Luna was recently spayed and had soft palate surgery, she was chocking every time she drank water and is being treated for heartworms.
Luna takes medication for seasonal allergies, an under active thyroid and anxiety.
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. For additional information please email us info@ddbrescue.org
