Rooster

Adopted

Rooster is a young, happy male that was found as a stray. We believe he is one years old. He had bilateral entropion and a ulcer in his right eye. He had drops and ointment for the eye ulcer and surgery for the entropion. He is heartworm negative. He weighs 95 pounds. Rooster loves to go for  walks and he goes daily. He has begun to want to chase after bicycles. We are working on re-directing is attention but he needs improvement. Rooster enjoys running through the yard after birds, squirrels or rabbits.

Rooster is a bit of a character, he likes to sit in places that are not meant to be sat on, like the reception counter at the vets office or a small table, the window sill or the kitchen counter. Other than the occasionally silly behavior he has very good house manners.

Rooster does not like other dogs in his space, he is fine on a walk in public but does not want another dog in his house. Cats are unknown. He can be placed in a home with children over six.

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. For additional information please email pam@ddbrescue.org

Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue is a foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to rescuing neglected and abandoned Dogue de Bordeaux, rehabilitating and re-homing them into loving forever homes in the continental United States.
