Lord Waffles

Adopted

Lord Waffles has been adopted and is living happily ever after.

Lord Waffles is about 4 years old.  He made the trip up north from an Alabama shelter.

We don’t know many details about his past – what we do know is Lord Waffles was starved and became part of a court case against the owner.  Once the case was settled LW made his way into rescue.  LW was heartworm positive his treatment is now complete and he is ready for his forever home.

He is about 145 pounds of slobber and love.  Introductions will need a little time, he warms up fairly quick and is a very affectionate boy once he gets to know you.

If you’re a neat freak look elsewhere because LW is not the dogue for you. He will “paint” your house, walls, ceilings, floors, cars, furniture, friends and family with his massive jowls. He happily leaves a small pond on his foster home’s kitchen floor every time he takes a drink and we’re sure he will do the same in his adopters home too and you will slide across that pond and land on your butt if you are not careful.

LW has a perpetual and extremely hefty appetite and guards his food like the contingent of infantry guarding the Queen of England, he takes this “job” quite seriously and therefore he needs to be the only dog both now and going forward.

His foster home has worked hard with LW.  He is house trained and crate trained.  He is good with baths, nail trimming is a work in progress.  He now walks well on lead –  in the beginning he used to plop and roll mid-walk on the driveway/street as if he were in a yard, and relieve himself on the driveway/street, however now he has learned to go only on the grass and not roll on the ground while on lead, he only rolls in the fenced yard now.

He loves his kong jumbler, which will go with him, he is very active and playful in the yard.

LW appreciates his afternoon naps and clearly loves his peace and quiet especially after living outside for so long and  then being a shelter inmate longer than any dog should have to endure.

He is such a sweet dog who is clearly so appreciative of living inside in cool air-conditioning (the cooler the better). He runs right back in after going out in the yard) you can see his thankfulness for finally being treated well after what he has endured in his past.

Lord Waffles will do best in an adult only home or children older than 15 years.  A quiet home  without a lot of commotion and noise is the best scenario for LW. He loves playing in the yard off lead and therefore needs a fenced in yard, if your yard is not ample and fenced, do not apply for LW.  No electronic fencing will be considered.  A home with no cats and no other dogs is also a requirement for adopting LW.  His adopter will need to continue his positive training in order for him to continue to thrive, so prior working dog experience is needed.

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application and reference/home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them.
