Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue welcomed one year old Star in May of 2025. Prior to this Star had not been to a veterinarian. On her first visit she was diagnosed with a grade three heart murmur. After additional testing in September her diagnoses was changed to a grade four heart murmur and she began taking Atenolol tablets. Her condition is being closely monitored.
Star and two other Dogue de Bordeaux lived outside. No dog house or kennel, just outside. Having only lived outdoors it was challenging to transition to living indoors and being part of a family. She has learned to walk on a leash and is crate and house trained. Star does not do well with other dogs. We do not know how she is with cats or small children. Star has anxiety and we have been working on her resource guarding.
All rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. For additional information please email info@ddbrescue.org
Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue is a foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to rescuing neglected and abandoned Dogue de Bordeaux, rehabilitating and re-homing them into loving forever homes in the continental United States.
