In August of 2024 we welcomed seven year old Molly to Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue. A very thin Molly had been surrendered to a shelter four months earlier for resource guarding her food and not getting along with another dog in her home. Molly was skittish and afraid of everyone and everything. Now, after two months in her foster home she has made progress but is still uncomfortable around new people and unfamiliar surroundings and terrified to get in and out of the car. She has just begun working with a trainer. Molly is now at a healthy weight of 75 pounds.
In late October Molly was having a routine surgery and went in to cardiac arrest. She was revived and seen by a cardiologist that said she needs a pacemaker. Molly will need to travel several hours by car for the pacemaker. Her heart condition limits the drugs she can be given for anxiety during the trip and we are coordinating the safest way to get Molly the help she needs to survive.
Molly’ has a sponsor for her veterinary care.
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. For additional information please email info@ddbrescue.org
Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue is a foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to rescuing neglected and abandoned Dogue de Bordeaux, rehabilitating and re-homing them into loving forever homes in the continental United States.
