Brie

Adopted
Meet Brie! This 2 year old Dogue de Bordeaux girl is equal parts hilarious, loving, and lovable chaos. True to her breed, Brie is a big-headed beauty with an even bigger personality!
Brie absolutely loves playing with her dog friends and does great with cats and even pigs! Honestly, at this point, we’re pretty sure she’s just happy to make friends with everyone she meets. She also enjoys the finer things in life like couch lounging, hanging out with her people, and leisurely walks where she can show off her excellent leash manners.
Now, let’s be honest here. Brie is a Dogue de Bordeaux. So yes, if left to her own devices for too long, she may occasionally dabble in a little light mischief. A crate or secure area when unattended would be ideal. But come on… we all saw Turner and Hooch. You know exactly what you’re signing up for: a giant, lovable goofball with a heart of gold and just enough shenanigans to keep life interesting.
Brie would make a fantastic family dog for anyone with a sense of humor and a love for giant squishy-faced companions. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will make you laugh daily, Brie is your girl.

Brie found her way to the shelter. She arrived weighing 63 pounds and had a 3/9 body score. An ideal body score is five. She was missing hair on ear flaps, was covered in fleas and flea dirt, had a fresh wound on one of her front legs and several healed wounds on both front and back legs. She also has a grade two heart murmur. Grade two is audible but quiet. The shelter gave her medicated baths and antibiotics to prevent infection from her leg wound. After three weeks at the shelter the hair on her ears was growing back, her wound closed and she gained three pounds. Even after the three weeks of care she was still very skittish, scared and kept her tail tucked. She will cautiously take a treat from your hand and has showed some interest in toys.

Brie is dog friendly but she has not been exposed to cats or children while in our care. Once she completes her vetting she will be ready for adoption.

Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue is a foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to rescuing neglected and abandoned Dogue de Bordeaux, rehabilitating and re-homing them into loving forever homes in the continental United States.
