Bailey

New Arrival

Bailey will be looking for her forever home but we wanted to give her background. A loving family adopted her from the shelter to save her from the euthanasia list. She was removed from her original home under a neglect case. They do have other dogs and have fallen in love with Bailey but did not intend to have another dog. In addition, one of their resident dogs is not happy with her being there so they are very vested in finding her a new forever family.

Bailey is around 2 years old and is incredibly sweet. She has never shown any aggression towards a human. She seems fairly indifferent towards dogs and never shown aggression to dogs. Bailey is very gentle but fearful of sudden movements like bikes or scooters. She’s very low energy but has 20 minutes a day she wants to move around. She does well with a 15-minute walk. She seems to be afraid of kids, so no one under 16 years of age. Cats are unknown. She has been spayed, is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.
Bailey does have some medical limitations that the current family is working on. She came in very emaciated and has gone from 45lbs to 55lbs. They are working on getting her to 60lbs with a healthy pace. In addition, she is having some sight and mobility issues, all of which are manageable and being evaluated by her vet and a neurologist. Stairs are an issue but is good with a ramp, so a one level home would be ideal.
If you would be interested in meeting Bailey and becoming her forever family, please complete an adoption application.

All rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. We do NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. For additional information please email info@ddbrescue.org

Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue is a foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to rescuing neglected and abandoned Dogue de Bordeaux, rehabilitating and re-homing them into loving forever homes in the continental United States.
