Honey is located in San Diego
We were notified on 8/7 about her, she was running lose in the streets of Anaheim, massive tumor hanging down, emaciated and in just horrible shape. Animal control captured her and immediately started her vetting. The tumor ruptured and was a bleeding, goopy mess. She had numerous mammary tumors, she was skin and bones at around 80 pounds. This poor momma has been through so much. She is estimated at about 3-5 years old, but she looks more on the younger side.
We secured a foster home and committed to taking her (we were going to help get her to our friends at Lone Star/Dog Ranch Rescue, but she couldn’t handle that transport at this time). Our volunteer was able to spring her as the shelter was closing. Immediately, we got her into an Emergency Vet, they packed and bandaged the pineapple sized ruptured tumor and sent her home. Honey is currently at our regular vet where they are addressing all of Honey’s health issues. We are thankful to Hope For Paws for helping DDBR cover her vetting!!
Honey had her mammary tumors removed and our vet got excellent margins. The tumors have not returned and she recently completed her vetting and is now ready for a forever home of her own.
