Big Mack in TX

Big Mack is a 2-3 year old neutered male located near Houston TX. He came to us from a high kill shelter, deemed “extremely dog aggressive”. Turns out, they tested him with another dominant male dog. He came to us overloaded with ticks, an ulcer on his eye, ear infection, and emaciated. Happy to report that he is coming around and doing much better. Mack is excellent with people. Big Mack, or Mack Daddy as we like to call him is doing wonderful in his foster home. He has excellent manners both in and out of the home and is wonderful with other dogs (females), not at all “extremely dog aggressive” as he was deemed. He has really taken to our foster’s Boston Terrier’s and Bulldogs. Mack is a total social butterfly and loves to be the center of attention. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped before being placed. Completed application, reference/home check are required..

Hanna Banana is a nice young girlie. Located Southeast of Atlanta (closer to Savannah). She is under 2 years of age and once she warms up, she is a super sweet girl and wants to be the center of your world. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and has had laser surgery to take care of extra lashes that were scratching her eyes, heartworm negative and on preventative. Hanna does have a heart condition, likely Sub Aortic Stenosis as it’s a murmur, we have not had an echo done to see how bad it actually is. She LOVES to swim and is learning basic house and leash manners. Hanna is good with male dogs of similar size and some female dogs. She is extremely shy at first and take a bit to warm up, but once she does, she is your typical ddb, constantly underfoot and where ever you are.

Reese came to us from a very high kill shelter. He is about 3 years old, super handsome, but could use about 30 pounds and is heavy heartworm positive. Reese has been a sweetheart with our fosters dogs and with her kids. He has a wonderful disposition and is very loving and the cherry on the cake, his manners are great too. Reese is having a difficult time with the heart worm and is now in treatment for them. At this time, we don’t know if he will make it through heartworm treatment, his prognosis is “guarded”. He has good days and bad days (more good at the moment). Hopefully, we can nurse him back to health as he truly is a magnificent dogue and will make someone a great family pet.

In loving memory of our dear Gordo. He was rescued by Peter in Buenos Aires and we will miss him so much. Peter was his Papa and pampered Gordo every day of his life.

He was as sweet as he was large. We were so happy to share his short life with him. He gave us all so much love. He passed on April 9, 2013. Peter, Paula, Lily and Martha.

Sweet, sweet Bernie is located near Houston. She came to us a complete medical wreck, heavy heartworm positive, large mass on her shoulder, cancerous lumps in her mammaries, emaciated and it took 3 de-tickings to get all of the ticks off of her. Thankfully, the mass on her shoulder had only a tiny bit of cancer and our vet got clean margins. Bernie has been spayed and had the mammary lumps removed and is recovering nicely. She has also started her heartworm treatment. She is a fabulous girl, LOVES Howard and male dogs of similar size, but will NOT put up with dogs being rude (yes, she is the fun police). Bernie is NOT ok with cats or small animals and will not be placed with such when and if she becomes adoptable.

Priya is a 12 month old spayed female located near Houston. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchip and is on heartworm preventative. She came to us along with her brother Raj and momma Bernadette, not in great shape, covered in ticks and fleas, wormy and just not in great shape. Priya is blossoming in foster care and is really coming along nicely. She is crate trained, housetrained and is learning basic manners on leash and in the home. She is wonderful with dogs of similar size. She does have a prey drive, so no cats or small dogs for this girl. She craves attention and to be by your side. Can you offer Priya a great home as an indoor family pet?
