June 1, 2019 Update- Ruby was adopted by her foster family.
Two year old Ruby was a stray and taken to a shelter in Indiana. The shelter identified and notified her family but they did not come for her. Ruby weighs 65 pounds, she is 10-15 pounds under weight. While at the shelter she began to have seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. She takes a daily medication and has not had a seizure while in our care but we are still working on getting the correct dose. She has some anxiety that is helped with a thunder shirt and unusual quirks, like trying go under parked cars when she is out on a walk. We think maybe when she was on her own under a car was a safe place. She is a very sweet, loving girl but needs time to adjust and realize she is safe. Bailey is good with other dogs and cats. Each day you can see more light in her eyes than the day before.
Ruby is very anxious riding in a car so a long trip to her new home is not an option.
